Love Is....
Love is shouting from a mountain
top,
and a whisper in the heart on a
cold dark night.
it`s dancing under bright lights,
and holding up an
umbrella when the rain drops fall.
Love is an expression whenthere
isen`t a single word
to express the emotions of the
heart.
I have heard that love is more
than romance, yet
romance keeps the fire of love
alive, when all the
embers are cover with ashes.
Love is the beat of the heart to
the rhythm of the soul.
It is when tears drops fall, but
you don`t know why.
So you keep trying to understnd
with
patience and kidness, to dry the
tears of a
gentle face.
Love is a river which flows
through dark, green pastures,
and through rough androcky
rapids where you know
there is a plunge down the
waterfall, but you go
on down anyway.
Because you know the waters
will calm in the coolness
of the morning.
It is when you know that even
when the fire is burning,
and when lightning strikes, and
the heat rises that we
will come through the fire, with a
burning love that
has molded us together.
Love is the simple truth of
knowing I want to spend
the rest of my life with you,
wakeing up to the
beating of your heart, and the
whispers of the words,
"I Love You."
When Melissa was in High School, she took speech and loved it. Melissa was very out going and loved
telling stories and making up speeches all of the time, in addition to writing her poems. Even as a small child
she would sit down and make up stories, and love it if she could entertain different people when they
came over, even her sister and brother liked her stories. She had a good imagination and put it to
work.
Her speech class would go on different trips around to different schools to compete in
her Senior year. She was doing really well, and was in the top ten of the state. There was one final meeting
they had to go to, to see who would be able to do a speech at the university in Lincoln.
I remember her practicing her speech all of the time, and making me, and who ever else she could
capture, sit down and listen to it. When it came to this last speech, before the finals, she thought she
would make it, but that day something else happened. Another teenage boy passed above her and he was
chosen to go to the state to compete with the other schools. I remember coming home and was so
disappointed she did not make it.
When her school went to the state, she went along to encourage her class mates, even though
her heart was hurting from not being able to give her speech.
That weekend when she came home I thought I would see her coming in dragging her feet and feeling
sorry for herself for she did not get to give her speech. Instead she totally surprised me. When she
came in she was so excited over what happened there, that she couldn't hardly wait to tell me.
What had happened as she had told me was that she went in the lunch room to get a drink, and there sat the
young man that had beat her on the last speech she gave. She went over to him and congratulated
him for winning that day, and he invited her to sit down and visit . He started asking her all kinds of
question about the school where she attended (for Melissa attended a christian school) and she begins
to open up to him. He was very curious and asked a lot of questions, and she found that this young man
did not know Jesus as his Savior. Melissa had the opportunity to win this young man to the Lord.
Melissa goes on and tells me.."Mom, if I had won the speech, I would never had this chance to tell him
about Christ and He would not have received Christ as his Savior. She was happy, very happy over
what had happen and again Jesus performed a miracle through Melissa.
I want to add this for who ever that comes and reads this, if you don't know Jesus as your Savior, I
pray that you will come to know Him, before you leave, no one knows when there time is to
die. No one knows if they will ever have another chance to ask Jesus into their heart. I beg you, if you
don't know Jesus.. that you will now ask Him to come into your heart...
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall
receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
